Beach Wrestling

History
Beach Wrestling joined FISU as an optional sport for the 2024 World University Championship Beach Sports. It will be the 1st edition of this event and it will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Informations & Documents
The Beach Wrestling tournament shall be organised in accordance with the most recent technical regulations of the “United World Wrestling” (UWW). In any dispute the English text shall be regarded as authoritative.
The programme and duration of competitions are fixed by FISU in agreement with the Organising Committee and the World University Championship TCC.

The competitions shall last 3 days and include:
• Men’s Categories: a maximum of 32 athletes and a minimum of 6 athletes from 4 different countries and 2 different continents per category
• Women’s Categories: a maximum of 32 athletes and a minimum of 6 athletes from 4 different countries and 2 different continents per category
Each country is authorised to enter a maximum of 20 persons: a maximum of 8 athletes per gender (maximum of 2 athletes per weight category) and 4 officials.

HoD Meeting
The Heads of Delegation (HoD) meeting is open to all Heads of Delegation from all delegations present, with attendance limited to a maximum of two representatives per delegation.
The Heads of Delegation (HoD) meeting is scheduled for September 16, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
Eurostars Oasis PlazaGENERAL TECHNICAL MEETING (GTM)
The GTM are open to all officials from registered countries, with attendance limited to a maximum of two representatives per delegation.
